Offensive zone hockey practice play
This is a free offensive zone hockey practice play / drill. Use this drill after warm up drills on your hockey practice, when you start practicing game situations. Using this kind of attacking zone drills you give your players situations they will be facing in a game situation. This hockey drill could also be a part of a power play practice.
Explanation to the free offensive zone practice play: Fw 1 and Fw 2 starts at the same time, fw 1 passes the puck to fw 2, fw 2 advance up against blue and passes to defensemen 1 who takes the shot, fw 1 in front of the goalie trying to get the rebound.
Make this hockey drill easier:
- Remove defensemen 1 and let fw 2 try to score, fw 1 in front of the goalie taking rebound.
Make this drill more advanced:
- Add one player playing defense.
- Add two players playing defense. (in the beginning they will only be "present", not attacking too much)
- Add one more defensemen on the blue line, defensemen 1 can start at the border and defensemen 2 in the middle of the blue line. Defensemen 1 passes the puck to D 2 who takes the shot on goal.
Putting these moves into this hockey drill, you have 4 "new" hockey drills. Your players will develop their offensive zone / attacking zone hockey play step by step.
